Consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Lithuania on international legal issues

On November 8-9, 2016 Minsk hosted Consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Lithuania on international legal issues.The Belarusian delegation was headed by the Head of the General Department of Treaties and Legal Affairs of the MFA, Andrei Metelitsa. The Lithuanian delegation was led by the Head of the Department of Law and International Treaties of the MFA, Andrius Numavichyus.

 

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Alena Kupchyna, welcomed the participants of the Consultations.

In the course of the Consultations, the parties discussed the process of updating the lists of bilateral treaties and other international instruments in force between Belarus and Lithuania, as well as exchanged information on the practice of implementation of treaties and  progress in concluding new international legal instruments.

During the consultations, the sides also discussed other international legal issues including cooperation within the frameworks of international organizations.

Following the results of the Consultations, the parties signed the final Protocol.
