On trade cooperation

Lithuania is one of the leading economic partners of the Republic of Belarus, as well as a major transit corridor for Belarusian exports to third countries. In 2020 Lithuania ranked 6th place for Belarus in terms of trade turnover and 4th place – in terms of exports among the countries that were trade partners for Belarus.

According to the Belarusian statistics, the trade turnover between Belarus and Lithuania in 2020 amounted to 1377,4 million dollars, exports of Belarus to Lithuania – 1037,5 million dollars, while imports from Lithuania – 339,9 million dollars. Belarusian exports of goods to Lithuania included 652 commodity items.

In 2020 Belarus exported to Lithuania timber, copper and copper alloys, mixed mineral fertilizers, fuel wood, oil products, unalloyed steel rods, rapeseed oil and frozen fruits. Lithuania exported to Belarus raw oil, waste and scrap of ferrous metals, used clothing, cotton wool, boards, panels, desks for electrical equipment, parts and accessories for vehicles and tractors.

Mutual turnover in trade in services between Belarus and Lithuania in 2020 amounted to 765,5 million dollars. The export of services to Lithuania reached 322,1 million dollars, imports from Lithuania – 443,4 million dollars.

The main services that Belarus exported to Lithuania were transport services (249,9 million dollars in 2020), computer services (26,2 million dollars), construction services (14,6 million dollars). The key sector in the import of services from Lithuania to Belarus was also the sector of transport services (397,7 million dollars).
