Republican Scientific and Practical Centre of Otorhinolaryngology
SI “RSPC of Otorhinolaryngology” is a leading health care centre in The Republic of Belarus. The Centre includes In-patient Department (130 beds) and Consultative Out-patient Department (250 visits per shift). The Centre carries out fundamental and applied scientific research in the field of otorhinolaryngology (surdology, phoniatrics, audiology and rhinology), develops and implements new medical technologies, modern techniques of treatment and diagnostics. The Centre performs all the techniques of hearing improvement, as well as complex and high-tech functionally attenuated surgical operations on the ear, larynx, nose and paranasal sinuses: cochlear implantation, microsurgery on middle and inner ear, larynx recanalization, functional endoscopic sinus surgery, esthetic surgery, rhino- and otoplasty, radiofrequency somnoplasty, soft palate implantation. The main directions of clinical practice are: hearing disorders detection in patients of different age, all the specter of surdologic and audiologic examination, hearing improvement surgery, dacriocystorhinostomy, snoring diagnostics and surgical treatment, complex rehabilitation of patients with hearing disorders, treatment of patients with speech pathology. The Centre applies evidence-based algorithm for early diagnostics of hearing disorders in children and their hearing and voice rehabilitation. The republican Registry of deaf and hard-of-hearing children was formed.
Centre’s workforce capacity includes highly qualified (96% are certified for qualification categories) specialists: otorhinolaryngologists, surdologists, phoniatrists, hearing prosthesists, psychiatrists, diagnostic doctors, logopaedists, teachers of the deaf and hard of hearing and phonopedists.
The Centre is equipped with modern equipment: microdebrider (shaver) and micromotor systems, surgical videomicroscopes, videoendoscopic complexes with microtools sets, anesthesiologic equipment of high class, ENT and phoniatric working places with microscopes, tympanometers, audiometers, rhinomanometers and endoscopes.
