Republican Scientific and Practical Centre for Traumatology and Orthopedics

State Institution “Republican Scientific and Practical Centre for Traumatology and Orthopedics” (RSPC TO) is destinated to render highly-qualified specialized traumatological and orthopedic assistance for republic population and to work out new and more effective methods of diagnosis, treatment and prophylaxis. RSPC TO consists of 8 scientific subdivisions and 8 clinical departments where 340 orthopedic-traumatological and 12 anaesthetic-reanimation beds are developed.

About 8000 operation per year are carried out in RSPC TO: more than 600 operations of hip joint endoprosthetic appliances including over 150 revisions, about 300 knee-joint endoprosthetic appliances, 800 arthroscopic surgeries and about 900 spine surgeries.

Over 30 thousand patients from all republic regions are consulted all year round. In RSPC TO complicated and high technological surgeries are accomplished including the osteosynthesis and correction of spine deformities with scoliosis and trauma, organ saved operations with any localization non-malignant tumors, many dimensional pelvic osteotomies, miniinvasive pelvic bones fractures osteosynthesis, revision of hip joint endoprosthetic appliance, primary and revision knee-joint endoprosthetic appliance.

On the grounds of extensive clinical material concrete recommendations of the most effective treatment methods are developed for patients with complicated and unstable injuries in cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine sections. Such methods of diagnosis as MRI, RCT and USG are applied in clinical practice and allowed to reduce period of patient observation in 2,5 times, to improve orthopedic-traumatological patients surgery treatment quality. Subsidiary consultations of particular specialists (vertebrologist, children orthopedist) are organized.

• Highly skilled orthopedic and trauma surgeons, neurosurgeons (vertebrologists).
• Diagnostic procedures: CT, MRI, US examinations of bones and joints.
• Major joints endoprosthesis replacement (including hip and knee prosthesis revisions, shoulder and ankle joints replacement).
• Arthroscopic surgery on the large joints, including knee ligaments reconstructive surgery.
• Minimally invasive surgery, including fractures intramedullary nailing.
• Spinal deformities surgery (scoliosis and kyphotic deformity, congenital spine abnormalities), including revisions (constructions reassembling).
• Vertebroplasty.
• Decompressive surgery.
• Diskectomy and other spinal disk herniation surgery.

In addition, RSPC ТО provides paid educational services: training and residency in orthopedics, trauma and spine surgery.
