Republican Scientific and Practical Center of Transfusion and medical biotechnology
Currently, our Center has in its composition powerful research units specializing in the field of medical biotechnology, clinical and industrial transfusion; highly skilled service preparation of blood and blood components; modern production of pharmaceuticals and medical products from the blood plasma. The priority areas of scientific and practical activities are:
- The development of innovation in developing new technologies and organization of production of blood components, new drugs, medical devices on the basis of blood components;
- Development of applied information technology for the purposes of transfusion, Hemostasis, donation, transplantation medicine;
- Development of fundamental and applied aspects of Clinical Transfusion and Hemostasis, the risk of post-transfusion reactions and complications, transfusion safety immunobiological media;
- The creation of new medical biotechnology stem cell transplantation for and Regenerative Medicine;
- Search for new serological markers of pathological processes and disorders of homeostasis in different diseases and the creation of highly sensitive rapid diagnostic kits, effective quantitative diagnostic kits based on advanced biotechnological approaches (use of monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies, recombinant proteins obtaining antigens, methods of fluorescent labels (Tracy and similar)) ;
- Development of new diagnostics, pharmaceutical substances and drugs based on biotechnology (production of recombinant protein antigens and cytokines for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes, monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies for diagnosis and therapy) and putting them into production.
In recent years, the research units of the Centre in the field of new technologies in production and clinical transfusion, information and analytical technologies in Hemostasis, Transfusion, Transplantation achieved the following results:
- Developed a methodology for the selection of donors and HLA-typing to supplement the database of the National Bone Marrow Donor Registry.
